Welcome to Vaitupu Association of Non-Governmental Organisations- (VaNGO)

VaNGO was established as the overall body to oversee all the non-government organizations, including communities and church organizations operating on the island of Vaitupu. This body will work wih the Kaupule (Council) to execute and implement the Vaitupu Island Strategic Plan (Te Kafateke), and other community projects and development decided by the Falekaupule of Vaitupu. VaNGO is developed by the people of Vaitupu for the people of Vaitupu.

VaNGO's working philosophy is centered on building durable and sustainable partnerships. As a community-based NGO, VaNGO was established to collaborate closely with the Vaitupu Island Council (VIC) in implementing their activities.

We have observed that some projects fail due to a lack of sufficient manpower and capacity within NGOs to effectively implement them. To address this challenge, we have adopted a strategic approach: VaNGO secures funding and resources, while the VIC takes the lead in project implementation. This partnership ensures that projects are executed efficiently and effectively, leveraging the strengths of both parties for the benefit of the community.
